Car rental insurance & deposit in Spain
Basic insurance has a high excess and a €200–€1,500 deposit. Full-cover (excess waiver) usually eliminates both for a per-day fee.

Spanish rentals include basic third-party plus a CDW with a high excess. Suppliers block that excess on a credit card until return. A full-cover policy (sometimes sold as 'super CDW' or 'Premium Cover') waives the excess; partner cars with the 'no deposit' badge waive both the excess and the credit-card hold. Compare the daily premium against the deposit you'd otherwise lose access to — often the math favours full-cover on trips of a week or more.
