Getting to Fuengirola by car
Fuengirola sits midway along the coast — about 30 minutes from both Málaga airport and Marbella on the A-7. The cercanías train also links it to Málaga, but a car opens up the inland villages of Mijas just above.
Parking and getting around
Parking is genuinely easy here. Use one of the central underground car parks or the lots by Sohail castle, then walk the flat, pram-friendly promenade.
What to see and do
Walk the long paseo, let the kids loose at the excellent Bioparc, and climb to the Sohail castle for coast views. The beaches are wide and well-served, and Mijas Pueblo is a 15-minute drive up the hill.

The 'Garden of the Costa del Sol' keeps a genuinely Spanish old town — flower-filled lanes, a famous mural route and an easy, walkable centre — west of Marbella with long, uncrowded beaches.
